The Eucalyptus tree
Eucalyptus trees are medicinal trees that can reach more than 60 meters in height, and some extant specimens have reached 150 meters.
Cook’s expedition to Australia in 1770 introduced eucalypts to the rest of the world. Sir Joseph Banks, botanist on the expedition, collected the first specimens and later introduced the Eucalyptus to different places, including South America.
Eucalyptus is a fast-growing tree, whose root can be cut and regrow, and soon adapted well to different climates around the world. There are over 700 species of eucalyptus and most are native to Australia.

The Pao Pereira tree, or Pau Pereira, is native to the Amazon rainforest, where it has been used in traditional medicine and popular culture for centuries.
